Overview

OVERVIEW

Lansing Correctional Facility (LCF) is home to the state’s largest and oldest correctional complex for adult male residents.  A new complex was erected on the Lansing grounds in 2020 to provide incarcerated housing to approximately 2,500 adult male residents. Lansing is home to many educational and vocational partners, offering job and life skills to aide in rehabilitation and growth of the resident population.

PROGRAMS

The following are programs and services available at Lansing Correctional Facility

Resident Employment Partnerships
  • LCF partners with local businesses both on-site and off-site to provide vocational opportunities while incarcerated.

KCKCC Welding Program
  • LCF partners with Kansas City Kansas Community College to offer welding schooling as a pathway to certification and employment in the welding field.

Aramark Food Service Program
  • LCF partners with Aramark to offer residents an educational opportunity to learn food service skills and obtain certification to be utilized in future employment.

SAP (Substance Abuse Program)
  • Substance Abuse programming offered with partnership through Heartland Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Center (RADAC)

Chaplaincy
  • LCF's chaplaincy office facilitates religious programs and support groups for inmates, offering counseling, volunteer coordination, and outreach to local communities.

Offender Workforce Development (OWDS)
  • OWDS assists inmates in addressing barriers to employment readiness, providing job search skills training, resume building, and support in navigating felony convictions during job searches.
